Things to Do

Africa is not only the world’s second largest continent,but also the most diverse continent. It is never short of unique and extraordinary holiday experiences. Here you will find our list of must see and do’s that will surprise and inspire you. There are lots of things to do while on safari in Africa.

Adventure Tourism

Although Africa has been man’s home since the beginning of time, it has also been synonymous with adventure. Adventure tourism can be seen as any tourist activity that takes travellers outside their comfort zone. There is hardly a country in Africa that does not have some kind of challenging adventurous activity.

Here we can only offer a small sample;

Mountaineering

Mountaineering hiking and 4WD excursions in the mountains can be done from the north of Africa in the Atlas mountains to the many mountains in South Africa, e.g. the Drakensberg. Not to be forgotten are Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Kenya in central Africa to name but a few.

Adrenaline Adventures

Physical challenges include bungee jumping. A 216m (over 700 feet) bungee jump off the Bloukrans river bridge is the longest drop off a man-made structure. White-water rafting can be extremely adventurous. The Zambezi river has some of the most difficult white-water rafting in the world.

Gorilla Trekking

Adventure tourism also includes getting close to wildlife, e.g. gorilla tracking in Uganda. Gorilla tracking is one of the best combinations of hiking and game viewing.

Game Viewing

Game viewing can be quite an adventure, as some tourists would attest after having their car chased by elephants. Crossing the Namib or the Sahara deserts in a 4×4 will prove to be an unforgettable adventure.
